Summer 2009 - July Newsletter
Dear All,
Well this is the final newsletter of the year - it has gone so fast! There are so many things to celebrate about 2008-09: standards attained are very high, the grounds and buildings have really improved, learning is taking place in many places around the school and community, and the Friends raised huge amounts of money and had lots of fun! Team Folly Hill is thriving.
I was staggered by the amount of money made at the summer fair – the most ever I think. Final count was £1,600! Well done and thank you. We are in the process of buying lots of lovely books for the library and have two new literacy kits with games etc for learning initial sounds and words. Dave has ordered fairies and gnomes for our imaginary outdoor area and I am going to book a Bollywood dancer to come and work with the children in September. Of course, the Friends haven’t forgotten our leavers - they will get a gift and a party paid for by the Friends.
The Friends Ceilidh and bike ride/picnic are still to come so please join us for those special events.
Thank you for being such an extraordinary group of people - that includes pupils, parents, staff, governors, volunteers and community - without you all Folly Hill would not be the amazing school that it is.
Yours sincerely
C S Green
