Spring Term 2009 - March Newsletter

Dear All,

I am writing this newsletter on a beautiful sunny afternoon – let’s hope that it is a sign of good things to come!

We have very much enjoyed our learning through topics this term. In February our Australia Week was only briefly interrupted by snow. Francis Firebrace came to talk to us about aboriginal culture and we have had lots of positive feedback from the children about his visit.

We had an Australian raffle at the end of this topic. Mrs Hancock kindly donated prizes which she purchased during her visit to Australia last year. The raffle raised £30.50 for writing tool kits! Thank you Mrs Hancock and all of you for supporting this raffle.

The winners were:
Henry Salmon won a boomerang
Lily Barfield won a wallet
Joshua Hayes won a cap.
Well done!

This week is Human Body Week. There are a few skeletons coming out of cupboards around the school! A few parents are coming in to talk to children about the jobs they do and Mrs Peck’s friend who was a nurse is coming to talk to Rainbow about washing their hands carefully! REMEMBER - wear something connected to our topic on Friday 6th March.

Have a happy Easter and eat lots of chocolate!

Yours sincerely
C S Green
