Autumn Term 2008 - November Newsletter

Dear All,

Welcome back after an extended half term - the children definitely seem to have benefited from the rest.

As I write preparations for Bonfire Night are going ahead, hopefully the cake sale and sale of Farnham Firework tickets will go well and make much needed funds for the school.

Auction Night is on 14th November. It should be a good evening so please come, maybe bid for an item and hopefully have a few laughs. If you could offer items or services to bid for they would be very much appreciated. Please return your slip as soon as possible.

The Friends are also busily organising the Christmas Fair, - you should receive a letter detailing events next week. Please fill in your reply slip and return via your child’s book bag. Thank you so so much to the Friends for their magnificent support of the school; I really don’t know what we would do without you.

I am sorry we cancelled Gardening Saturday but you were so productive last time that we really didn’t have enough jobs to go round! However if you have any left over winter crops that we could plant in school vegetable beds that would be lovely - Rainbow will be planting seeds from Innes Needham’s huge pumpkin which is the “son of” our last year’s prize winning pumpkin!

As you can see from the eco board, we won the local schools “Farnham in Bloom” largest pumpkin competition again! We also came second in the tallest sunflower competition. Thank you to Mrs Quigley, Dave Hancock, Millie Rutherford and Adam Bale for keeping the plants watered and nourished. We won £25 in gardening tokens so I am going to ask Millie’s and Adam’s parents if they can come with me to spend it!

Now we begin to look forward to Christmas and will hopefully see you all at the Christmas fair, play etc over the next two months.
