Snow Days

Good morning all

Well it is Saturday morning and the snow is finally almost gone.

I do have a tinge of sadness- they were exciting days despite the pressures of getting in, ensuring everyone's safety before the school could be opened and then the endless changing of clothes! However it was like we were all in our own little Folly Hill bubble and we had lots of fun playing in the snow, snuggling up for stories and generally enjoying the team spirit that comes with these special times in life .

Spring

It is such a beautiful morning. Mr Hancock has started his plans for the school garden and Mrs Needham has worked really hard on our willow tunnel to make it much more user friendly for the children. I took some of the children into the wildlife area yesterday to learn more about adjectives and they wrote some lovely descriptions and thoroughly enjoyed the willow tunnel.

our poems

Colours

Red as a tomato.
Blue like the waves.
Green like the soft grass.
Yellow as soft, juicy corn.
Purple plums yum yum!
Orange sun like a ball of fire.
Silver like shiny stars.
Brown as a chocolate birthday cake.
Gold as shiny treasure.

Condor

Pearly fur arches round his head.
Dark wrinkles growing.
Soft spike leaning like a unicorn,
Bendy beak shaped like an ice cream cone,
Flat, floppy feathers leaning down.

Tired children

The term has started well. this is the first morning that the school has had its complete quota of children in.

One or tears this morning from parents as well as children- this is totally to be expected at such an emotional time for all.

Your children will be very tired as they get used to new routines whichever class they are in. Please let us know if you are having a particular problem.

Lets hope its  a happy year for everyone!

body parts!

This term we are learning about "ourselves". We have got a skeleton on our class! He is called Finlay! Benjamin has made a wordsearch for us. Open the file below and see if you can find all the body parts.
